History
Sochin is said (by Nakayama Masatoshi) to have been devised by Funakoshi Gigo. However, by its pattern, it may really have been derived from the obscure and supposedly older Kodaka Sochin, possibly acquired by Gigo from Hisataka, in the 1930’s. Kodaka Sochin’s genesis on Kudaka Island is unknown.
